The Golden Hind under sail off white cliffs on the front. Francis Fletcher's 1579 passage on the back, the one about deer "by thousands". SFBA 2026 on the sleeve.

In June 1579, Francis Drake brought the Golden Hind into a bay at Point Reyes to repair the hull. He stayed about five weeks and claimed the land for England as Nova Albion, because the white cliffs reminded his crew of Dover. The ship's chaplain, Francis Fletcher, wrote down what he saw. We printed it on the back.
